1970s

“What were you working on when you visited Indonesia?”

I served my time with Palm Line Limited as an engineer cadet, they were basically a Unilever company sailing out of Liverpool for West Africa. Fascinating when we were on the coast. First ship:

Then we got married and I wanted Chris to be able to come with me so I joined Panocean Ltd , A new company at the time which was running a few specialized chemical tankers all round the world such as the  Post Champion.

I shall see if I can remember where we went in the East, but Singapore was always involved, a very different place in the ’70s !

Also S Africa, Bombay, Karachi, K Lumpur, Djakarta, Davau,     Albany(W Australia), Japan, Shanghai, Yokohama and back across the Pacific through Panama! Quite a trip!
